Week 9
Hey everyone,
So I have been out for 9 weeks now hahah it's crazy how time on a mission goes by in such a weird way. This past week we were still in a trio. We have been in a trio for two weeks now but it'll end tomorrow because that's when the other 3 Elders in my zone will drive to Reno to bring their 2 new companions back to Ely. One of them will stay in Reno for 3 weeks before he goes home.
We are teaching a 13 year old kid right now. She's super nice and wants to know her purpose of why she is here and why Heavenly Father has put her in the situation she is in. We taught her the Plan of Salvation and it was a powerful lesson because she really understood it and wanted us to come back to her foster family's home to learn more.
I am starting to get in a flow now so it's been a little easier. I am still trying to work as hard as possible because I want others to experience the joy I feel in my life, in their lives. My spiritual message this week comes from Enos in the Book of Mormon. Enos is one of my favorite chapters to read in the Book of Mormon. My favorite verse is, verse 8 "And he said unto me: Because of thy faith in Christ, whom thou hast never before heard nor seen. And many years pass away before he shall manifest himself in the flesh; wherefore, go to, thy faith hath made thee whole." I really like this scripture because it shows such a strong example of faith. Enos having struggled with sin in the past asking for forgiveness was able to receive it because of his undoubted faith in Christ. And I know as we have faith like Enos, we are able to be made whole again and strive to live like Christ lived.
I love you all and hope you are all doing well, Miss Y'all
Love,
Elder Patterson
