Taylor Patterson - Reno, NV Mission

  Hey Everyone!! This week was super good today we went to the petting zoo and we also went bowling which was super fun!!! But on the missionary work side we had a SOLID week. We started teaching a part member family. The wife is a member of the church and her husband is not. They're both 19 years old which is super crazy because they're younger then me but they're married!!! They've been reading the Book of Mormon this past week together which has been super cool, so hopefully they keep doing that!! We are also teaching this other guy he is an absolute stud! His name is Lucas. We started teaching him on my birthday (talk about a miracle) but he's been to church twice since then and is reading the Book of Mormon which is sweet. He's been progressing so much I seriously love the dude though, he's the BEST!! Not much else is happening. oOn May 22nd Elder Ulisses Soares will visit our mission so I'm super hyped to meet him!!!   Hey Everyone!!! I just wanted to say thank you again for all those who sent their birthday wishes it was the best!!! The work is still going forward here in downtown Reno. I'll be staying another transfer and my companion is staying the same as well!! I'm pumped to stay in this area because the work is picking up, we don't have anyone on date for baptism yet but hopefully soon!!! Thank you for all the prayers and the encouragement to press forward. These past few months have flown by and I have just seen SO many miracles!! My favorite part serving in Reno is the opportunity we have to go to the temple it's super sweet to be able to go clean the temple once a week. The peace and comfort I feel every time I'm inside is absolutely amazing!! I hope everyone is doing well, love and miss you all:) Taylor

Hey everyone!!! This week went by super quick with Easter and General Conference happening we stayed super busy! Also the best news that I heard all week was that Elko Nevada is getting a temple. It literally filled me with so much joy to hear that!! I saw so many miracles serving there for 6 months so it was so awesome to hear a temple is getting built there!!  We had 6 nonmembers watch General Conference which was sweet. 2 actually went to a nonmembers house to watch one of the sessions. It was a guy who we actually began teaching this week. He absolutely loved the talks, especially the ones on kindness and God's love. We watched General Conference with the Portillo/Rodriguez family on Sunday and also had an Easter dinner with them. They're honestly such a sweet family, it was nice to be able to have a good time with each other, they also have a daughter whose birthday is April 6th so she came over with her kids and we celebrated both of our birthdays which was cool!!   Happy Easter Everyone!!! This week went by extremely fast, like Monday literally felt like yesterday. My companion and I have been walking a lot recently because the weather is so nice. Yesterday we walked for 6 hours street talking to all the people we saw. We found 4 new people to teach and every single one of them has so much potential! Hopefully this next week we will continue to help them feel the spirit in their lives while we are around. It's crazy to think next week I'll be 20 years old. Time honestly flies by so fast, my birthday will land on the day that I'll have exactly 3 months before I fly home.  Thank you all for the emails this past week sorry I haven't been able to respond to many. We went golfing today so it was just a relaxing day. I shot a 74 so that was nice but the random guys we were playing with were pretty cool!!  I hope everyone has a Happy Easter!!   Hey Everyone!!! I just wanted to write an email this week saying how amazing missionary work is!!! We had an amazing week here in Reno, we ended up finding 9 new peoples to teach which is awesome! Our ward only has two 16 year old boys and the rest are 15 and younger, but this week we actually started teaching a 16 and a 17 year old which was really cool! Hopefully we can help the youth in the ward grow. We also found a new guy to teach, he is a beast! We were messaging people on Facebook and he said he'd love to talk about some cool places to visit here in Reno and invited us to his place to talk about it. We ended up teaching the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the spirit was SO strong. He wanted to buy the Book ofMormon from us which was pretty sweet, and he was really happy when we gave it to him for free.   Hey Everyone!!! Long time no email, that's my bad!! But another transfer has gone by here, and I'm staying in Reno. I'll be getting a new companion on Wednesday named Elder Lowry and it'll be exciting to see what the future holds. I can't believe 20 months ago I was heading to the mission field. Only 4 more months and I'm absolutely excited to grind these last few months. We are teaching a few people here in Reno and it has been really fun!! We teach a lot of lessons but the hardest problem we are running into is people not wanting to progress yet. So hopefully this next week or two we can see some serious progression in the people that we are teaching!!!
